The main stage at Tomorrowland, a popular EDM festival in Belgium, has been set ablaze in a huge fire mere days before the event is set to take place.

Tomorrowland is one of the biggest EDM (electronic dance music) festivals of the year, drawing some of the genre’s biggest artists and huge throngs of fans who come to dance their hearts out to the beat.

The event, like others of its kind, is known for its elaborate stages, which often involve pyrotechnics, massive LED screens, ornate decorations, and other jaw-dropping details.

However, the 2025 festival’s main stage has gone up in a fiery blaze just two days before it’s slated to kick off on July 18, leaving concert-goers worried for the future of the show and the safety of the crew.

On July 16, photos and videos began circulating online showing Tomorrowland’s main stage engulfed in flames.

The set appeared to be themed around the White Witch’s castle from the Chronicles of Narnia, featuring ice-covered towers and a massive statue of a frozen lion in the center.

Tomorrowland’s 2025 main stage boasted a Narnia theme.

Thus far, it’s unclear what caused the blaze, but EDM fans are both horrified and bummed out about what this could mean for the festival.

One user speculated that it could have been the result of a pyrotechnics rehearsal before the show: “No statement from festival yet but most likely happened due to pyrotechnics. Weekend 1 was supposed to begin this Friday, but this is definitely going to affect it.”

Still others are comparing the incident to Fyre Festival, an infamously disastrous music festival that was slated to take place in 2017 but ultimately fell apart due to fraud and poor planning.

Years later, the show’s rights have been sold in an Ebay auction for $245,000, but its organizer still owes $26 million in restitution.
