CRAIG Melvin has gone abruptly missing from Today without any explanation.
He was replaced by a beloved co-host.
Craig typically joins Today about 30 minutes into the program.
He sits with Savannah Guthrie and Hoda Kotb at the desk to report on the day’s news.
However, on Friday, Craig was nowhere to be found.
Instead, Sheinelle Jones took his spot, making it an all-female desk.

“Sheinelle, are you ready?” Savannah, 52, asked.
“Yep. Lots of news early today,” Sheinelle, 45, responded.
Craig was in every day this week except for Friday.
It is not clear if he will be back on Monday.

ALL BOOKED UP
Although the hosts on Today did not mention where Craig was, he gave his followers on Instagram some insight into his location.
The host reshared photos from followers to his Story.
He sat in a chair next to NBC correspondent Antonia Hylton.
They appeared to be talking about a book that she wrote called MADNESS.
The event took place at The Strand Bookstore in New York City.
This is the only date that Craig will be joining Antonia on.
Craig is no stranger to books as he is set to release his first children’s book in May titled I’m Proud of You.
COMPLETE MADNESS
Madness: Race and Insanity in a Jim Crow Asylum was released on January 23.
The book follows the 93-year history of Crownsville Hospital, one of America’s last segregated asylums.
This is Antonia’s first book.
She is a Peabody and two-time Emmy award-winning Correspondent.
