Tkay Maidza has shared a new song, “Silent Assassin.” Flume produced the track; listen to it below.
“Silent Assassin” is Tkay Maidza’s first single since 2021’s “Nights In December.” Her most recent EP, Last Year Was Weird, Vol. 3, arrived in 2021. After supporting Billie Eilish and Dua Lipa on tour in 2022, the Zimbabwean-Australian artist will open for Lizzo later this month on a series of dates in Australia and New Zealand.
“I like to move in silence, but this song is a reminder that people shouldn’t count me out or underestimate my abilities; they should be afraid when I’m quiet as I come back more evolved,” Tkay Maidza said of “Silent Assassin” in a statement. “I’ve always wanted to work with Flume and was immediately ecstatic when he played the instrumental for this; I wanted to channel Busta Rhymes and Missy Elliot.”
