Tim Robinson and Paul Rudd Fall Apart

Tim Robinson and Paul Rudd Fall Apart

Friendship isn’t always sunshine and roses, a truth Tim Robinson and Paul Rudd know all too well in the first look at the upcoming film from A24 set to premiere in theaters in March. Watch the trailer for Friendship below.

Robinson has crafted a specific brand of humor with his beloved show I Think You Should Leave, which often features characters in stressful or embarrassing situations, and the first look at the film teases a similar strain of comedy. After Craig (Robinson) enjoys some great hangs with Rudd’s character and his buddies, he’s not invited back — and it’s here that the trailer takes a distinctly sinister turn.

However, despite the tense music, early reactions have praised Friendship as outright hilarious, with a writer from GQ describing it as “the funniest thing I’ve ever seen.”

Friendship marks the directorial feature debut for Andrew DeYoung, who also penned the script. Kate Mara is also featured as the wife of Robinson’s character.

Also this spring, A24 will push out another project with Rudd: Death of a Unicorn, where he stars alongside Jenna Ortega. Meanwhile, Robinson is working on an HBO comedy titled The Chair Company that received a series order  in September.
