TikToker itstommylloyd has responded after a clip of him playing on stage with Green Day at Coachella 2025 went viral across social media.
In the clip, Green Day frontman Billie Joe Armstrong called a fan on stage to play their hit song Good Riddance (Time of Your Life) on stage at Coachella 2025.
The man got ready to play the song after taking the guitar from Armstrong, and once it began, he started walking around on stage until the Green Day singer wrapped his arm around his shoulders.
It’s unknown what Billie Joe’s thoughts were at the time – he hasn’t addressed the clip since it began going viral on social media – but users have flocked to the comments on posts labeling the interaction “awkward” and “weird.”
Now, the singer has identified himself after posting a video on his TikTok account, reminiscing on the event and answering questions in the comments.

“Just had the craziest dream that Green Day pulled me onstage to play with them at Coachella?!?!” he said on the video. In the caption, he thanked the band for making his “ultimate dream come true.”
The video ends in a clip of him playing with the band, and has been viewed over 250,000 times since it was posted on April 13 with hundreds of fans taking to the comments to share their thoughts.
“I ain’t never seen Billie Joe take back a guitar as quickly as he did. This was so awkward to watch,” said one user, referencing the fact Green Day often brings people on stage to play the song.
“Dude why were you being so weird?” one user asked.
Many asked why he kept moving away from Billie Joe on stage, prompting a response from the musician.
“Tbh was kind of just mesmerized by the sea of people in front of me, it was all a blur. Luckily, he wrangled me in so we could be next to each other,” he said.
Despite people calling the performance awkward, many others shared support for the musician.
“Wow these comments are mean, good for you bro. I feel like people are jealous,” one user commented.
This is far from the first viral incident to come from Coachella. Back in 2024, Charli D’Amelio sparked backlash after wearing an “inappropriate” dress to the festival.
