Fresh off usurping Charli D’Amelio to become the most-followed person on TikTok, Khaby Lame is ready to make the pivot to acting.
The 22-year-old Senegalese-born creator spoke with TMZ this week about his desire to break into Hollywood, revealing that he hopes to star alongside Will Smith in a movie one day.
Lame’s manager translated the TikTok star’s Italian, telling the outlet, “He started to dream about being an actor after watching The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air. His goal is to be in a movie, hopefully, one day with [Will].”
Back in June, Lame, who held the No. 2 position since July 2021, surpassed 143 million followers to become the biggest TikToker alive. D’Amelio, who was the first person to pass 100 million followers on TikTok back in November 2020, now slots in at No. 2 with 142.7 million followers.
“I am passionate about entertaining and making people laugh since childhood, and I am thankful to TikTok for offering me a global stage to share my passion with the rest of the world,” Lame said in 2021, per Variety. “I will continue to work towards my dreams, knowing I can count on a beautiful community ready to cheer me on. Thank you and I love you all!”
Speaking with Forbes back in March, Lame described himself “as a simple person, but full of ideas and inspiration.”
He added, “Making people laugh has always been my biggest passion in life. I have big dreams and will not stop until I have reached them. What I’m doing now is also a dream coming true!”
