Christoper Nolan’s upcoming adaptation of The Odyssey doesn’t hit theaters until July 17th, 2026, but tickets for nearly all showings of the film in IMAX 70mm sold out within the first hour of going on sale, according to The Hollywood Reporter. Not only that, but tickets are being resold on eBay and other sites for upwards of $350.00.
It’s worth noting that there is a limited number of theaters worldwide opting to show The Odyssey in the full IMAX format, with only 26 locations currently listed on the official website. IMAX has promised that more locations and showtimes of tickets for The Odyssey will go on sale in the future.
IMAX 70mm is Nolan’s preferred format for viewing The Odyssey, which is the first feature to be shot entirely with IMAX cameras. The film stars Matt Damon as Odysseus, with Tom Holland, Anne Hathaway, Jon Bernthal, Anne Hathaway, Zendaya, Lupita Nyong’o, Robert Pattinson, Charlize Theron, and Mia Goth rounding out the cast. The first teaser trailer is currently showing in theaters, though it has yet to be released online.
