This ‘Twitch streamer’ is going viral and there’s a good reason nobody can find her

The internet is becoming obsessed with a new ‘Twitch streamer’ appearing on their feeds, but there’s just one problem: she’s not real.

On February 24, a video of a woman in a streaming room surfaced on social media and began going viral. At first glance, it doesn’t look too out of the ordinary, with the ‘streamer’ laughing and waving at her chat while playing a game.

However, unbeknownst to viewers who scrolled on by without reading the caption, this streamer doesn’t exist in the slightest, and you won’t be able to actually find her on Twitch.

“She’s 100% AI-generated,” the creator wrote. “Welcome to the uncanny valley.”

AI ‘Twitch streamer’ goes viral

The streaming world has become a wild place with the rise of AI, resulting in streams like Claude Plays Pokemon and even full AI VTubers such as Neuro-sama.

But for all the good that AI has brought, there’s been bad too, such as the emergence of deepfakes, which several streamers have been victims of after their likenesses were used to create inappropriate content.

Now, a full-blown AI Twitch streamer has taken over social media. Uploaded by Jamian Gerard to X, the user says he made her using Google’s AI video model Veo 2.

“I only added sharpness in CapCut. The prompt consistency is crazy with the shot and brands,” he said.

Upon a closer look, there are some dead giveaways the video is AI, such as the Secret Labs logo on her gaming chair, hands morphing, and the gameplay being displayed on two monitors.

“I could have done more to this, but decided not, to let people point out or try to find the flaws,” he said. “I’ve been wondering if one day I’ll come across a full AI streamer on Twitch or TikTok. Definitely feel it’s coming at some point.”

Of course, with AI VTubers being a real thing now, the possibility of eventually having fully realistic-looking AI streamers like the one created by Gerard is looking even more likely.

For now, don’t expect to find this “steamer” on any actual streaming sites, but don’t be surprised if she suddenly shows up on Twitch, interacting with chat and playing Call of Duty in the not-so-distant future.
