TheAnimeMan and Akidearest are two of the biggest creators in the anime YouTube sphere, and they met through the profession. They’ve been dating for almost as long as they’ve been full-time YouTubers at this point.
Both of these creators have been making anime-focused content for over a decade, and both of them have garnered millions of subscribers over the course of their careers.
After being friends for a few years and dating long distance for a while, they eventually moved in with each other in Japan to live together and further their careers.
Now, after almost 10 years together, they’re engaged.

TheAnimeMan (aka Joey) and Aki are one of the original YouTuber couples, officially announcing that they were dating back in 2016. Even then, they were seeing each other for a while before that.
The two made it official in 2016, a time when they were both already big YouTubers. But now they’re much, much bigger creators.
Aki still does her own thing on her channel with nearly 3 million subs. Joey has a little over 3 million subs himself, owns a clothing brand, and is part of the popular Trash Taste podcast. And now, after years of being anime YouTube’s biggest couple, they’ve decided to make it official.
The couple originally met when they were small creators, back when YouTube DMs still existed. Aki shot her shot first when she had around 1,000 subs and TheAnimeMan only had around 10k, with the two of them doing a video together and immediately clicking.
After being friends for a few years, Aki confessed and became Joey’s first ever girlfriend. Despite some comments on their coming out video questioning how long the relationship would last at the time, they’re on their way to getting married nine years later.
Joey is also friends with PewDiePie, another YouTuber who dated a fellow creator for nearly a decade before getting married. Oompaville and KallMeKris also got married recently, making yet another YouTube couple where both creators met online and decided to tie the knot.
