The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers reveal that Faith Newman (Reylynn Caster) is headed back to Ann Arbor in the aftermath of the Cameron Kirsten (Linden Ashby) chaos. Instead of leaning on her loved ones and working through her trauma, Faith plans to return to campus and stay busy with a summer class or new job.
Of course, it seems like a bad call on Y&R’s part to ship Faith off like this. Sharon Rosales (Sharon Case) and Nick Newman’s (Joshua Morrow) daughter just went through a horrifying ordeal, so surely Faith could use her parents’ continued support right now.
Although Faith will have friends to lean on, that’s not the same as the support of her family at home.
We get why Faith might struggle to shake Cameron and see him around every corner, but that feeling would likely fade quickly if she stayed.
This would’ve been a great time for Faith to have a PTSD storyline or at least a story where Sharon and Nick come together worrying about her.
Instead, Faith’s June 21 exit announcement means she’s packing up and moving on sooner than her parents expected.
Y&R fans know Faith is still dating Moses Winters (Jacob Aaron Gaines), but their relationship is happening offscreen.
This would’ve been an excellent opportunity for Summer to get tempted by a new bad boy in town and perhaps cheat for a summer fling.
No one would blame Faith for spinning out a bit during the fallout of the Cameron mayhem, but she’s bouncing back quickly instead – and that means the show’s not taking advantage of maximum drama!
Reylynn Caster seems to have earned plenty of fans as a recast, especially after her gripping work in this intense Cameron storyline.
Caster has made the role of Faith her own, so it would’ve been nice to see someone from the younger generation stick around – even just for the summer.
