The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers reveal that Linden Ashby (Cameron Kirsten) is back on-screen for Sharon Newman’s (Sharon Case) mental health crisis – and it turns out he’ll be sticking around for quite some time.
The show reached out to Ashby in May about the possibility of him reprising the role of Cameron, which caught him off guard since his character suffered a fatal exit.
However, nothing is impossible in the world of daytime dramas, so Ashby ultimately got on board for Cameron Kirsten’s soapy comeback.
In an interview with TV Insider, Linden Ashby admitted he’s enjoying the unique nature of the situation since Cameron didn’t miraculously turn up alive – nor is he appearing as a ghost.
This version of Cameron is all in Sharon’s head, and she’s fully aware that he’s not real. Ashby suggested “that adds a huge wrinkle,” so he’s loving that aspect of the storyline.
Of course, Ashby is also enjoying the chance to carpool to work with his wife, Susan Walters (Diane Jenkins-Abbott)!
Walters is a huge help to Ashby when it comes to prepping for his scenes on the show. Ashby gushed over his co-stars and indicated he was having a blast, so he’s in no hurry to leave.
That’s great news since Ashby, who began taping again in June, is still filming now.

“I’ve read quite a bit ahead,” Ashby confirmed to TV Insider. “I know where certain things are going and it’s pretty good stuff.”
The Y&R star also opened up a bit about “Cameron” voicing things that Sharon’s been too scared to say for herself.
We’re going to see these Cameron hallucinations encourage Sharon “to do things that maybe she shouldn’t be doing.”
Our predictions hint that “Cameron” could push Sharon to make some horrible mistakes, which she could regret once she’s seeing things clearly down the road.
The Young and the Restless spoilers say Sharon will get far worse before she gets better thanks to “Cameron” acting as the little devil on her shoulder!
