The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers reveal that Linden Ashby recently wrapped his run as Cameron Kirsten – at least a version of him. “Cameron” appeared to Sharon Newman (Sharon Case) while she was on PCP, so that brought some intriguing interactions along the way.
Now that Sharon’s off the drug that was messing with her head, her Cameron hallucinations will become a thing of the past.
However, that doesn’t necessarily mean it’ll be the last that fans see of Linden Ashby!
In an interview with SOD, Ashby hinted about the possibility of returning as Cameron in some form or maybe even playing a new character if the right opportunity comes along.
“Oh, you never say never, do you? If it was the right part and it made sense and it was going to be fun and my schedule said, ‘Yeah, this is a good thing to do,’ sure!” Ashby insisted.
In fact, Ashby himself offered up a potential option in another part of the interview.
After acknowledging that he was lucky to portray Cameron posthumously, he suggested maybe he could play Cameron’s sibling next.
“And now I’ll be, you know, his brother [laughs]. We’ll see!” Ashby teased.
Since Ashby joked about this prediction, it’s fun to speculate about the idea of him making a Y&R comeback as Cameron’s twin – preferably a good one who’d disapprove of his brother’s actions and have staying power on canvas.
After all the turmoil Cameron put Sharon and her loved ones through, it’d be wild for her to see a man with his face roaming around Genoa City.
Sharon might have a hard time with that at first, but perhaps she could eventually fall for Cameron’s brother in an interesting twist.
Sharon Case and Linden Ashby have proven they have fantastic on-screen chemistry in their scenes together, so this would be another strategy to explore it.
Could you get on board with a new pairing between Sharon and Cameron’s twin?
There’s no guarantee it’ll happen, but it’d be great to see Ashby come back for a new brother story that would shake up the canvas.
