The Wheel of Time‘s second season cannot arrive soon enough; hurry up, September 1. The Prime Video series based on Robert Jordan’s epic fantasy series of the same name will continue the story of Rand al’Thor (Josha Stradowski), the Dragon Reborn, and the world that must reckon with the Dragon’s return. We’ve seen first-look images that tease the struggles ahead. We learned about the casting of Verin Mathwin. That’s all been great, but we’ve been wondering about more. Now we know The Wheel of Time season two trailer will arrive on the next Wheel of Time Wednesday! In the meantime, Nerdist has three exclusive images from the upcoming trailer to share.
First, we have this image of Egwene al’Vere (Madeleine Madden) and Elayne Trakand (Ceara Coveney):
Egwene and Elayne are both wearing white, the traditional color for novices in the White Tower. Both Egwene and Elayne, a new character for season two, are learning to become Aes Sedai. The One Power flows around Egwene and no one looks happy about it. Stresses of training? Actual danger? It could be either or both.
We also have a glimpse of Perrin Aybara (Marcus Rutherford):
Season one put our characters, previously sheltered in the Two Rivers, through the ringer. Perrin looks more world weary here. He’s someone who has now seen some sh*t and has to confront a whole different world, and it shows.
Finally, we have an image of Lan Mandragoran (Daniel Henney) and his loyal steed Mandarb:
Lan looks concerned, which, if we’re being honest, is an evergreen description of Lan. The warder is no doubt wrestling a lot between Moiraine losing access to the One Power and his Feelings for Nynaeve.
Prime Video says of The Wheel of Time season two:
In Season Two, threats new and very old seek out the young friends from the Two Rivers, now scattered over the world. The woman who found and guided them is now powerless to help, and so they must find other sources of strength. In each other, or themselves. In the Light … or the Dark.
The Wheel of Time season two trailer will debut at 6:00 a.m. PT/9:00 a.m. ET on Wednesday, July 19. We cannot wait!
