The Sphere in Las Vegas had its biggest day since it first opened opened its doors in September. Not only did Madison Square Garden Entertainment land its next residency to succeed U2, it landed a major sponsor moving forward.

PepsiCo is an official partner of the world’s most viral entertainment venue. Its products will be exclusively served through the arena’s concession stands and ‘grab and go’ stations, as well as in the venue’s 23 suites. In addition, PepsiCo will be heavily featured on the venue’s exosphere indefinitely.

This deal is big for two reasons. First and foremost, Sphere has been trying to secure a corporate partner for months now. It is a money off of James Dolan’s back. Secondly, this is the first partnership that includes both a tangible product and the visual advertising push.

In addition to the logistics, this announcement comes with incredible timing.

Dead & Company announced that it will be coming out of retirement to perform 18 shows over the course of a six-week residency at the Sphere in Las Vegas from May 16 to June 22. Each weekend’s three performances will feature a unique and different setlist.

Advanced presale is now open at DeadAndCompany.com, and general on-sale will begin Friday, Feb. 9, on Ticketmaster. Tickets start at $145 and will reflect all-in pricing.

To announced both a new residency and a new corporate partnership on the same day was a massive win for Sphere Entertainment. It is going to be a big boost to the company’s financial outlook with a new report expected to be released in the coming weeks.

Fans can officially drink Mountain Dew while watching Bob Weir, Mickey Hart, and Bill Kreutzmann perform alongside John Mayer, Oteil Burbridge, and Jeff Chimenti. More importantly, Sphere is hopeful that it’ll create an uptick in revenue!
