The Righteous Gemstones will wrap up its run at HBO following the upcoming fourth season, series creator and star Danny McBride has confirmed.
“The Lord spoke to me and said it’s time to wrap this sucker up,” McBride said in a statement (via Variety). “The story this season made the themes, ideas, and characters in The Righteous Gemstones feel whole and complete. I have loved every second of working with this team for the past eight years, and there are some incredible payoffs, twists, and turns in store over the course of this wild final season.”
HBO picked up The Righteous Gemstones for Season 4 back in July 2023, but the premiere date has yet to be announced. However, the final episodes are expected to begin airing in March.
Revolving around the titular Gemstone family, the comedy series finds humor in the children’s struggles with taking over the leadership of their family’s Church. In addition to McBride, the series stars Adam DeVine, John Goodman, Edi Patterson, Tony Cavalero, Cassidy Freeman, Gregory Alan Williams, and Tim Baltz.
