Tedeschi Trucks Band have announced a special screening of Learning to Live Together: The Return of Mad Dogs & Englishmen that will feature the artists’ reflections on the unforgettable reunion they arranged. On July 28, members of the Grammy-winning Southern rock ensemble will convene at Tulsa, Okla.’s hallowed The Church Studio, founded by Leon Russell in 1972, with members of the new documentary’s team, including director and producer Jessie Lauter. Following the presentation, the film’s participants will take the stage for an intimate discussion of the story chronicled and the process of bringing it to the big screen. Free tickets are available now on a first-come, first-served basis.

Learning To Live Together: The Return of Mad Dogs & Englishmen is a thorough and thoughtful retelling of the late Joe Cocker’s legendary return to the US and reunion with the Mad Dogs 45 years after his historic 1970 tour. Cocker and all 12 remaining members revived the memory of their original run 2015’s LOCKN’ Festival with Tedeschi Trucks Band and an all-star ensemble including age with contemporary interviews and performances from a star-studded cast, including Russell, Rita Coolidge, Chris Robinson, Jim Keltner, Dave Mason, Claudia Lennear, Steve Earle and more. The film brings captures that staging’s electrifying and powerful energy with a mix of never-before-seen archival footage and new interviews with the artists.

“Mad Dogs & Englishmen were one of the groups that inspired us from when we first started our band and paying tribute to their work with so many of the original members on hand was a highlight on many levels,” Susan Tedeschi and Derek Trucks shared in a joint statement. “This film is a labor of love many years in the making, and we’re so proud to share the music and the stories of the men and women of Mad Dogs & Englishmen.”
