The Olde Park Hotel, built in 1886, has been called the most haunted hotel in the state of Texas. Now, it, and all of its ghosts, are up for sale.
There are plenty of ghosts too. From the shadow cowboy that reportedly appears all over the hotel and another cowboy named Slim the likes to whistle to a woman who used to work for the brothel that was run in the hotel and some phantom kids roaming the halls, the hotel is filled with ghostly tenants.
Which is a good thing since the haunted Olde Park Hotel in Ballinger, Texas doesn’t currently take real, living renters. For the past nine years, the hotel has only been the home to tours and overnight stays paranormal research groups.
According to the San Angelo Standard-Times, the current owners, Connie and Dan LaFave, are taking offers for the hotel until the end of the year.
“The new owner would be able to carry on business as normal from here on out as to a new transition and any bookings already made or events set in 2025 would be still honored,” Dan wrote on Facebook.
“We do love the building and everything it has per its rich history and its paranormal. Connie and I are ready to transition to something else in our lives and it is hard to sell, but we both have decided to do this,” Dan wrote.
He also added, “Soon, we will determine who the new owners of this great place will be. We know that if we do decide to sell it to them, they will most certainly do very special things like we have done in carrying it all forward in honoring what we have done personally and for what this historic and paranormal venue really is.”
The Olde Park Hotel is just one of several in Texas to be called the most haunted hotel in the state. The Jefferson Hotel in Jefferson, Texas has also claimed that title.
In 2023, the Jefferson Hotel posted a video taken by a guest who was staying in a room at the hotel when a doll inside the room appeared to move all by itself.
