The Menzingers have announced that an expanded edition of their seventh album ‘Some Of It Was True’ is on its way, sharing reflective new single ‘Gone West’.
‘Some Of It Was True (Deluxe)’ will arrive this Friday (May 31), featuring two new tracks including ‘Gone West’.
Speaking on the track, vocalist/guitarist Tom May has shared:
“We recorded ‘Gone West’ at the same time as ‘Some Of It Was True’ and although we didn’t think it fit just right on the album, it has some of my favorite guitar and vocal melodies.
“The lyrics are a tongue-in-cheek play on accepting the truth of your own mortality. I always thought “goin’ west” was an interesting euphemism for dying; following the sun.”
It arrives with a music video filmed during their massive headlining tour last winter, shot and edited by the band’s good friend and touring crew member, Tyler Long.

The Menzingers are set to celebrate the tenth anniversary of ‘Rented World’ later this year with a trio of shows, including a date in their adopted hometown of Philadelphia, and two nights in London.
