Dallas Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott may not be the first person you’d think of when it comes to promoting the third and final Venom movie, but then again, there’s never really been anything “normal” about the Tom Hardy-starring comic book movie franchise, anyway.
Featuring in a new clip for Venom: The Last Dance, which hits movie theaters on October 25, the Dallas Cowboys franchise quarterback is seen walking in the desert alongside Hardy, complaining that he’s going to be late for warm-ups because they’re lost. He even begins doing his notorious twisting hip warm-up move while they walk.
Then, just like they do in the film (it’s been heavily advertised), they come across a wild horse that Venom takes over, giving it super speed, which Prescott then latches on to. All told, it’s a genuinely bizarre commercial.
Venom: The Last Dance is set to be the third and final film in Sony’s Venom franchise following 2018’s Venom and 2021’s Venom: Let There Be Carnage. Directed by Kelly Marcel, who has written all three screenplays in the franchise, Venom: The Last Dance stars Chiwetel Ejiofor, Juno Temple, Rhys Ifans, Peggy Lu, Alanna Ubach, and Stephen Graham alongside Tom Hardy.
Hardy’s Eddie Brock was actually most recently seen in a post-credits scene of Spider-Man: No Way Home, which seemed to briefly imply that he was transported to the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Venom 3, however, will take place in the same Sony universe that the first two did.
Venom: The Last Dance will be released in movie theaters in the United States on Friday, October 25. Check out the official synopsis and trailer for the film, via Sony Pictures, below.
“In Venom: The Last Dance, Tom Hardy returns as Venom, one of Marvel’s greatest and most complex characters, for the final film in the trilogy. Eddie and Venom are on the run. Hunted by both of their worlds and with the net closing in, the duo are forced into a devastating decision that will bring the curtains down on Venom and Eddie’s last dance.”
