The Gaslight Anthem have a new EP dropping this Friday, March 22 – and, with their UK/EU tour currently underway, they’ve also announced more dates across North America.
‘HISTORY BOOKS – SHORT STORIES’ will arrive on the band’s own label Rich Mahogany Recordings via Thirty Tigers.
It’s set to feature four exclusive tracks and a brand-new rendition of their longtime fan favorite, ‘Blue Jeans & White T-Shirts’.
What’s more, there’ll be stripped-down acoustic performances of ‘Positive Charge’ and ‘History Books’ – the original versions for which are of course on the band’s ‘History Books’ LP from last year, which lead vocalist Brian Fallon told us all about in our ‘The Album Story’ feature.
There’ll also be a cover of Billie Eilish’s ‘Ocean Eyes’, which as Fallon has explained:
“I was driving my daughter to school and she played it for me on the way and I really took to the song.
“Then one day we were talking ideas for a cover with our friends and I said, wouldn’t it be cool to do a heavier version of ‘Ocean Eyes’? I tried it out and everybody loved the idea.”
The Gaslight Anthem will celebrate the EP with a North American summer headline tour, kicking-off on July 26 at Denver, CO’s Mission Ballroom.
The newly-announced dates come amid The Gaslight Anthem’s current mammoth run of shows in the UK and EU, which will later include their 2000 Trees festival appearance in July.
