MACKENZIE Edwards has made moves to reopen her divorce from her estranged husband Ryan after the case was dismissed.
The Teen Mom OG alums split in February 2023, but their divorce was dismissed last month because there were no filings in the case for 270 days.
According to The Ashley’s Roundup, Mackenzie, 28, pleaded for a judge to reactivate the case, and Ryan, 36, was mailed a copy of his ex’s request.
The court documents were reportedly sent to Ryan’s parents, Jen and Larry’s home, despite the former MTV star recently moving in with his girlfriend, Amanda Conner, 33.
Mackenzie stated in the new court documents obtained by The Ashley that Ryan was in jail when she initially filed for divorce, which could have been the reason for the holdup.
The ex-reality star also claimed she and Ryan attempted to settle their divorce in mediation, but the father of three bailed out.
“On November 3, 2023, following [Ryan’s] release [from jail], the parties scheduled mediation…[Ryan] appeared for the mediation but terminated the session immediately,” the documents said.
“Thereafter [Ryan] was again incarcerated for a shorter period of time.”
The U.S. Sun exclusively reported that Mackenzie and Ryan tried to hash out their divorce issues in mediation, but negotiations fell through.
Their last session was on February 21, 2024, but they were “unable to settle the case,” as per the filing.
The pair are expected in court on March 18, and Mackenzie’s order will be automatically granted if Ryan doesn’t attend.
DIVORCE DISMISSAL
As The U.S. Sun previously reported, court papers filed on February 19 read, “It is ordered by the court that this case be, and the same is hereby dismissed, without prejudice, with the cost taxed against the plaintiff.”
A clerk for Hamilton County explained the court’s decision to The U.S. Sun: “There was never a Final Decree on this case. It sat for over 270 days with nothing filed, so it was dismissed on Procedural Steps.”
According to the clerk, the parties have 30 days from the order to reopen the case, or it will remain dismissed.
In Mackenzie’s divorce petition obtained by The U.S. Sun, she claimed Ryan is “guilty of inappropriate marital conduct” and that “irreconcilable differences” exist between them.
Mackenzie listed their separation date as January 2023 after Ryan “became erratic and violent.”
She also claimed she filed a protection order request against him when he “became violent with her in front of the parties’ minor children.”
FAMILY FIRST
Mackenzie and Ryan are parents of a five-year-old son, Jagger, and a four-year-old daughter, Stella.
The Tennessee native is also a mom to a 10-year-old son, Hudson, from a previous relationship, and Ryan shares his 15-year-old son, Bentley, with his ex, Maci Bookout, 32.
Mackenzie appeared to put the drama behind her last weekend during an outing with her three kids to celebrate Hudson’s birthday.
She posted a sweet snap on Instagram of the group smiling at dinner.
Ryan was noticeably missing from the festivities.
The ex-Teen Mom star was in and out of jail in 2023 on harassment, driving under the influence, possession of a controlled substance, and other charges.
In early December, Ryan was arrested for failing to follow the terms of his probation, including the harassment charge from February.
He was released from jail before the holidays and has a court hearing scheduled for April 23, 2024.
