Taylor Swift might not be the first person that comes to mind when discussing the ultra-violent, highly satirical Deadpool series. But in a new Instagram Story, the singer enthusiastically voiced her support for the latest installment, Deadpool & Wolverine, which stars her pals Hugh Jackman and Ryan Reynolds, the latter of whom is married to her dear friend Blake Lively.
“Over the past few years, I have watched one of my best friends on this planet pour every bit of his heart, soul, sweat, time, energy, jokes, pain, joy, rebellion, darkness, and magic into this film,” she wrote. “He’s created the best work of his life…But that’s just Hugh for you!” she joked.
In the post, Swift also confirmed that she is godmother to at least two of Reynolds and Lively’s four kids. “Shout out to Wade Wilson, aka my godkids’ sperm donor!” she said above a link to purchase tickets to the movie. “Here’s where to buy tickets if you like things that are unspeakably awesome,” she shared.
In Swift’s 2020 album, folklore, she referenced the Reynolds-Lively family in her song “betty” — the names of the high-school students in the track are the names of the couple’s older children, James, Betty, and Inez. This week marks the four year anniversary of the Grammy-winning project, which can now be secured in vinyl format.
