Tatyana Ali is an actress and singer best known for her roles on The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air and The Young & The Restless. Ali recently took a Zumba class with her co-star, Alfonso Riberio. She shared a video of herself in it on Instagram. She captioned the post, “Reunited and it feels so good 🎶I can’t even describe taking a @zumba class with @therealalfonsoribeiro. I was sweating from my eyeballs.” How does she stay so fit? Read on.
Ali revealed in the caption of this Instagram post that she likes to meditate. “It doesn’t matter where you are in life, all you need is yourself & a tiny bit of space to practice yoga and meditation. I don’t practice every single day as I should; but when I can catch 5 or 10 minutes to practice, the peace I feel is worth it every time.”
As you can see from the previous Instagram post, Ali likes to do yoga. She is seen doing poses in the previous Instagram post. Harvard Health states that yoga has a lot of mental benefits. “Yoga develops inner awareness. It focuses your attention on your body’s abilities at the present moment. It helps develop breath and strength of mind and body. It’s not about physical appearance. Yoga studios typically don’t have mirrors. This is so people can focus their awareness inward rather than how a pose — or the people around them — looks. Surveys have found that those who practiced yoga were more aware of their bodies than people who didn’t practice yoga. They were also more satisfied with and less critical of their bodies. For these reasons, yoga has become an integral part in the treatment of eating disorders and programs that promote positive body image and self-esteem.”
Ali shared some of her wellness secrets with Black Doctors. She says that she makes sure to stay consistent with her routine. “Be consistent! Just like everything else in life, consistency counts. Sometimes we want instant results and get frustrated because they’re not coming soon enough or we hit a plateau. If you keep exercising and keep eating right though, results will eventually come.”
Ali revealed to Black Doctors that getting enough sleep is a big part of her wellness routine. “Health, to me, is more mental and spiritual than physical,” says Ali. “But with the physical, I drink lots of water and sleep. You don’t have to be out all the time. Go home and go to sleep. If you’re comfortable with yourself and you’re being yourself then your health will radiate.”
As you can see on her Instagram post, Ali takes Zumba classes. Piedmont states that Zumba has a lot of benefits. “You may feel sore in places you never knew existed, but it gets results. Zumba targets lots of different muscle groups at once for total body toning. You not only get aerobic benefits (it really gets your heart rate up), you also get anaerobic benefits – the kind that help you maintain a good cardiovascular respiratory system.”
