ABBOTT Elementary has fans clamoring for more of a special guest star.
Veteran TV and voice actress Cree Summer joined the show as a new employee.
Cree is known for her voice-over work on shows like Rugrats, Batman Beyond and Inspector Gadget.
The 54-year-old also starred on The Cosby Show spinoff, A Different World, in the late 1980s.
Now, she has surprised fans by joining the star-studded guest list for this season of Abbott Elementary.
Cree played a librarian visiting the titular school, stopping by to read some books to the students.
And of course she had to put on different voices for the different book characters.
Fans on X, formerly known as Twitter, loved the surprise appearance, and hope it’s not the last the ABC dramedy has seen of Cree.
“Cree in Abbott is GENIUS!” one person excitedly tweeted, as another demanded, “sign my Cree Cree to the show as a regular.”
“This might be my favorite episode of @AbbottElemABC,” a third person commented. “Now I need to see & hear @IAmCreeSummer at LEAST every other episode this season!”
“Who knew I’d love a librarian character so much lol?” one fan weighed in.
And one tweeted, “Who do I need to call to make you a be back for more episodes?”
SCHOOL’S OUT
The glee of fans helped temper disappointment last week, when producers held off from airing a new episode out of respect for the 2024 Oscars.
Abbott Elementary has become one of ABC’s top shows since it debuted on the TV network in 2021.
The Emmy-winning series revolves around a group of hilarious teachers who work at a public school in Philadelphia.
Brittani Nichols, a show writer and producer for Abbott Elementary, recently took to X, fka Twitter, to confess that the beloved program would be on a mini-hiatus.
She wrote on the social media platform on Wednesday, “There will be no new Abbott Elementary tonight because we’re airing after the Oscars.”
“Tune in on Sunday After airing a new episode on Sunday, March 10, Abbott Elementary will return to Wednesdays before taking another break on March 27.”
NOT COOL
On X, fka Twitter, some fans revealed that they were upset that a new episode of Abbott Elementary would not air until Sunday.
“No new episode of #abbottelementary this week? This is not a country,” a fan wrote.
Another added: “So you mean to tell me they didn’t air a new episode of Abbott Elementary for the Academy Awards ?!? Don’t nobody watch that.”
A third person disclosed: “Here I was, with dinner and all, ready to watch a new Abbott Elementary episode and there is none [sad face emoji].”
