Companies wisely send Sydney Sweeney their products and event her to their events due to the inherent virality (over 20 million followers on Instagram and routine coverage from major publications) that comes with her exploding fame.
That’s what Samsung did this week by inviting the 26-year-old A-list actress to their Samsung Unpacked event, although it didn’t go as planned.
Trying to showcase their AI’s ability to generate a 3D image based on a portrait, Samsung used Sweeney as an example and then put her on the spot by asking what she thought of it.
Even Sweeney, for all of her acting talents, couldn’t hide her understandable cringeworthy disgust that should be felt toward all AI artistic creations.
Earlier this week, it was announced that Sweeney’s next film, Ron Howard’s Eden — her third of 2024 following Madame Web and Immaculate — will premiere at the Toronto Film Festival in September.
Alongside Sweeney, Eden also stars Jude Law, Ana de Armas, Vanessa Kirby, Daniel Bruhl, Felix Kammerer, Toby Wallace, and Richard Roxburgh.
Samsung isn’t the only product that Sweeney has been promoting on her social media this week, as she also shared a video of herself in a bikini using skin products in a post that racked up over a million likes.
Sweeney’s upcoming projects include a Christy Martin biopic, Echo Valley (alongside Julianne Moore), a remake of the 1960s sci-fi movie Barbarella with director Edgar Wright, and the third season of Euphoria.
