Sydney Sweeney has added another project to her increasingly busy slate. According to reports, she’ll be starring in an adaptation of the video game Split Fiction.

The rising 27-year-old A-list actress already has numerous projects on her slate, including Michael Pearce’s Echo Valley, which hits AppleTV+ in June, and Ron Howard’s Eden, which hits theaters in August.

She’s also attached to Scandalous directed by Colman Domingo, The Housemaid directed by Paul Feig, an untitled Christy Martin biopic directed David Michôd, Americana directed by Tony Tost, I Pretended to be A Missing Girl, Barbarella directed by Edgar Wright, an adaptation of the popular Japanese anime Gundam, OutRun directed by Michael Bay, a film adaptation of Edgar Allen Poe’s the Masque of the Red Death, and more.

Split Fiction will be directed by Jon M. Chu, who just helmed the massive Wicked and its upcoming sequel Wicked: For Good. Split Fiction — divided into a science-fiction storyline and a fantasy storyline — was only released just this March and sold over 2 million copies in its first week.

“From developer Hazelight Studios and publisher Electronic Arts, Split Fiction blends fantasy and science fiction, following a pair of authors, Mio and Zoe, who become trapped in the worlds they wrote. Written by director and Hazelight studio chief Josef Fares and Sebastian Johansson, Split Fiction is a co-op adventure game that features gameplay mechanics involving split-screen combat, platforming challenges and differing abilities for each character.” [via Variety]

At this time, it is unclear if Sweeney will be playing Mio (sci-fi lead character) or Zoe (fantasy lead). Chu’s other credits include Step Up 2 & 3, G.I. Joe: Retaliation, Now You See Me 2, Crazy Rich Asians, and In The Heights.
