Suits LA is bringing a new version of the original series’ gripping legal drama to the West Coast. Fans are curious about this universe coming back to television, especially with the news that Harvey Specter is going to suit up again for a few episodes. Will Suits LA be able to capture the magic of Suits with this new cast? It remains to be seen. If the Suits LA trailer is any indication of what’s to come, it is up in the air whether it will become the next TV obsession.
As a big Suits fan, I’m not saying that this clip is a bad one. It gives us a glimpse into the new main character Ted Black, played by Stephen Amell, and his firm of colorful characters. But we don’t get a good feel about whether that razor-sharp dialogue and cast chemistry will truly shine through in this series. The trailer does have a few moments that give me hope it will. But of course, a show’s quality is hard to determine in a very short clip of spliced together scenes. I love Josh McDermitt real bad and look forward to seeing him shine. There’s only a mention of Harvey Spector at the end of the trailer, so we will have to wait to see him.
Here’s a plot synopsis of Suits LA to go along with the trailer:
Ted Black, a former federal prosecutor from New York, has reinvented himself representing the most powerful clients in Los Angeles. His firm is at a crisis point, and in order to survive, he must embrace a role he held in contempt his entire career. Ted is surrounded by a stellar group of characters who test their loyalties to both Ted and each other while they can’t help but mix their personal and professional lives. All of this is going on while we slowly unravel the events that years ago led Ted to leave behind everything and everyone he loved.
What Is the Release Date for Suits LA?
We cannot wait to learn more about why Ted left New York and what happened between him and Harvey Specter. The answers will come soon when Suits LA hits Peacock on February 23.
