Canadian actor Stephen Huszar chatted about starring in the new Tubi thriller “Fatal Exposure,” where he worked with his leading ladies Sofia Masson and Jasmine Vega.

Sam Coyle directed the movie from a script by Mary Risk. The synopsis is: Ariel (Sofia Masson), an ambitious photographer, joins her handsome older boyfriend Derek at his picturesque home.

Ariel subsequently meets Derek’s intoxicating adult daughter, Chloe (Jasmine Vega), but as sabotage and stalking ensues in a power struggle, Ariel’s dream turns into a nightmare.

Mar Carrera plays Derek’s housekeeper Gabriella, Cesar Rodriguez plays his security guard Victor, and Johann Vera plays his chef Julio.

Filming in Mexico City

On starring in “Fatal Exposure,” he exclaimed, “It was fantastic. Oh my God! What a dream. Shooting in Mexico City was incredible. All the locations that they used there were pretty cool.”

“Mexico City has the best food in the world; it is top shop there,” he admitted. “It felt like we were shooting in the Beverly Hills equivalent of Mexico City in an affluent neighborhood on the hills.”

“So, the food is amazing, and we stayed in a beautiful neighborhood. We explored the scenery and the restaurants there. The art there is phenomenal as well,” he said.

“The people in Mexico are just so artful, and it was very inspiring to shoot there for almost a month, So, that was a huge highlight, of course,” he elaborated.

Huszar continued, “Mauricio [Argüelles] and Cesar [Rodriguez] are two of the most incredible humans I’ve ever met. They run such a beautiful production company, and everyone respects them so much.”

“Everyone was so kind and so professional, and everyone is just so good at what they do. The movie was shot so well. All in all, I would love to go back; it was a great experience,” he added.

Playing his dark character Derek

On playing his dark and complex character Derek, “He was such a badass… What a gaslighting asshole. I really enjoyed playing him. When I first got offered the role, I gave the script a read and I found it awesome.”

Huszar continued, “I thought the character was great, and I knew that the reveal was going to be more interesting à la ‘Dexter’ thing, where you don’t really know until you find out his darkness underneath what is going on.”

“For me, it was a beautiful foray into that darker world, which I do play sometimes when I play villains. Derek was a character that I could really sink my teeth into,” he acknowledged.

“So, as a whole, Derek was a lot of fun to play. I really enjoyed him, and I was surrounded by some really great artists,” Huszar added.

Working with Sofia Masson and Jasmine Vega

On working with Sofia Masson and Jasmine Vega, Huszar remarked, “Both Sofia and Jasmine were a dream to work with.”

“It was pretty awesome,” he admitted. “Sofia is such a great leading lady, and the network loves her. Sofia’s work was so precise and I learned a lot from her. The same holds true for Jasmine; she really brought it too. I respect both of their work so much; they both killed it.”

“We all became very good friends. I am very grateful to have worked with both of them. I would work with both of them again in a heartbeat,” Huszar added.

Working with director Sam Coyle

On working with Sam Coyle, Huszar stated, “Sam Coyle, our director, is Canadian, and she is actually represented by my management team up in Canada, so that was serendipitous. The caliber of talent was great and the direction was so unique.”
