Attention, Starfleet cadets. After a long two-year wait, Star Trek: Strange New Worlds‘ third season officially beams down to Paramount+ on July 17. The first two episodes of the season will drop on that day, returning viewers to the 23rd century at last. Following the premiere, new episodes will drop weekly on Thursdays, with the season finale on Thursday, September 11. We’ve waited a long time to know when exactly Star Trek: Strange New Worlds‘ premiere date would be, so we are VERY excited to finally have a date. In addition to its release date, we now also have a synopsis for Strange New Worlds season three, as well as a look at the poster art.
In season three, when we reconnect with the crew of the U.S.S. Enterprise, still under the command of Captain Pike, they face the conclusion of season two’s harrowing encounter with the Gorn. But new life and civilizations await, including a villain that will test our characters’ grit and resolve. An exciting twist on classic Star Trek, season three takes characters both new and beloved to new heights, and dives into thrilling adventures of faith, duty, romance, comedy, and mystery, with varying genres never before seen on any other Star Trek.
So, now that we know its premiere date, what can we expect from Strange New Worlds‘ third season? Well, the key art shows us that Cadet Uhura has a new hairdo. Has she finally been promoted to ensign at last? But other than that detail, we don’t see much else new to glean any new clues. It looks like all of our intrepid crew will survive the conflict with the Gorn in one piece. Star Trek: Strange New Worlds stars Anson Mount, Rebecca Romijn, Ethan Peck, Jess Bush, Christina Chong, Celia Rose Gooding, Melissa Navia, Babs Olusanmokun, and Martin Quinn. Returning guest stars include Rhys Darby, Patton Oswalt, Cillian O’Sullivan, Melanie Scrofano, and Carol Kane, plus special guest star Paul Wesley as James T. Kirk. Star Trek: Strange New Worlds season four is already in production.
As mentioned above, Star Trek: Strange New Worlds premieres with its first two episodes on July 17.
