Spirit Airlines passengers were once again given an unexpected treat when a “super rat” appeared and began running around on a flight from Dallas, Texas to Los Angeles, California earlier this week.
In a video which has gone viral with well over two million views, Spirit Airlines passengers on the approximately three-hour flight can be heard worrying about a rat that was spotted darting about in an overhead bin.
“It’s a super rat,” one of the passengers can be heard saying while another filmed the rodent making its way amongst what AviationA2Z calls “crucial electric (avionics) wiring.”
It isn’t clear which Spirit Airlines flight the rat appeared on, but AviationA2Z narrowed it down to one of these possible flights: Flight NK420, Flight NK363 or Flight NK3709. Viewers also stated that they believe the plane in question was an Airbus A320 aircraft.
Flight NK420 is operated by Airbus A321 aircraft, while Flight NK363 is operated by A320-200 and Flight NK3709 is serviced by A320neo.
While it’s not confirmed which flight it was some users commented that it’s an A320 aircraft so it could be NK363 or NK3709.
There has been no shortage of comments on the video, especially those making some sort of reference to the film Snakes on a Plane.
“He probably been all over the world,” one person wrote.
“Ratotuille switched careers I see,” someone else commented.
“That’s the Spirit Airlines mascot,” joked another viewer.
“You’re flying Chuck E Cheese Airlines,” read another comment.
“Mice in airplanes is extremely dangerous because they chew wires. If you ever see that, tell the flight crew immediately,” another viewer warned.
“We are aware of the video and are taking steps to address this matter,” Spirit Airlines told TMZ.
As anyone who has ever flown Spirit Airlines (or just has access to the internet) knows that rats on a plane might be the least of their concerns on any given flight.
