Soundside Music Festival Cancels 2025 Event Due to “Circumstances Beyond Our Control”

Soundside Music Festival has cancelled its 2025 staging due to “circumstances beyond our control.” Organizers announced the event’s cancellation on Friday, June 25, with a statement posted to the festival’s website.

“Soundside Music Festival has been cancelled,” the brief message reads. “Tickets will be refunded to the original method of payment in as little as 30 days depending on your bank’s processing time.” Instructions for securing refunds are available in the festival’s FAQ section.

With the cancellation of this year’s event, previously set for Sept. 27 and 28 at its consistent venue of Bridgeport, Conn.’s Seaside Park, Soundside’s social accounts have been deleted. While the festival did not reveal the cause for its change of plans, a statement from Bridgeport city officials suggested that low ticket sales were a contributing factor.

“It’s our understanding that this year’s lineup was drawing a lot fewer attendees than we have seen in the last few years,” said Thomas Gaudett, chief administrative officer for Bridgeport Mayor Joe Ganim, per The Connecticut Post. “And that may have had an impact on the decision to cancel.”

“We are deeply grateful to the City of Bridgeport, Mayor Ganim, our local partners, and all the fans for their support of the festival over the years,” Soundside’s organizers added in a statement to Billboard. While we’re disappointed to have canceled this year’s show, we remain proud of the incredible musical moments we shared together in Seaside Park and the opportunity to call Bridgeport home.”

Soundside Music Festival’s 2025 event would have been its fourth to date from C3 Presents–the production company behind Austin City Limits, Lollapalooza, and Governors Ball–and second since rebranding from its original identity as Sound on Sound. Just two days before last year’s presentation, the festival faced a last-minute lineup change when Foo Fighters dropped off the bill, leaving Jack White and Greta Van Fleet to sign on in their place. This shift followed the prior substitution of Bleachers for Queens of the Stone Age.
