Just a day before he sets off on the second leg of his U.S. tour, American singer-songwriter Marc Broussard, known for his Bayou Soul style, has shared a new single titled “Mood.” Today we premiere the grooving, persistent tune a day ahead of its official release.
“Mood” was co-written by Broussard and guitarist/producer Eric Krasno and delivers a howling call for emotional reciprocation with a cadence akin to an eruption demanding to be heard and witnessed – regardless of understanding. Broussard sings, “The sweat on your clothes/ Says all I need to know about you/ There’s something about your mood/ There’s something about you/ There’s something about your mood/ What am I to conclude/ When there’s just something about your mood.”
“If you’ve ever loved a woman, I’m sure you can relate to this. Not surprisingly, my wife did give me a bit of grief upon first hearing this one,” Broussard told Relix. “I just couldn’t help myself. The track Krasno put together called for lyrics like this. I had to go deep into the memory banks to find something to dig into.”
The track follows Broussard’s single “Fire,” and both songs serve as an intro to his new studio album, produced by Joe Bonamassa, which is set to release sometime in early 2023. Broussard’s new leg of dates will kick off in Portland, Ore. on Nov. 1 and continue with stops in notable cities, including Seattle, San Francisco, Los Angeles, Dallas and more. The tour will wrap with his annual New Year’s show in Nashville.
