Former Marvel Cinematic Universe star and action movie output machine Frank Grillo is pushing 60 years old these days but you certainly wouldn’t know it, as the action star not only has the physique of a man half his age, but the energy one one, too.
It’s that energy, and the passion that fuels that, that helped get his new action film Long Gone Heroes over the line, as Grillo told us that they had to halt filming in the middle of production due to budgetary issues.
That speedbump wound up being a blessing in disguise, however, as it moved the production of the film from Puerto Rico to Colombia, adding a much-needed layer of sweat-soaked jungle-rules realism that Long Gone Heroes ultimately thrives on.
Speaking to BroBible’s Post Credit Podcast for the second time — we previously chatted in late 2022 prior to the release of his film Lamborghini: The Man Behind the Legend — Grillo and I discussed bringing action heroes to life, how he approaches lead roles versus supporting roles, the genius of James Gunn and playing Rick Flag Sr. in the DCU, his recent sobriety, working his a hero of his in Sylvester Stallone, and more.

In addition to Grillo, Long Gone Heroes also stars Academy Award-winner Melissa Leo, Andy Garcia, Josh Hutcherson, Beau Knapp, Mekhi Phifer, and Eden Brolin. Long Gone Heroes is in theaters, on digital and on-demand beginning on Friday, September 20.
