Slightly Stoopid has released details for the eleventh installment of the Closer to the Sun festival. The fest will take place from January 10 to 14, 2026, and will return to the Hard Rock Hotel Riviera Maya. The venue will offer five stages, including the Main, Beach and Late Night Stage, providing festival goers with a robust musical experience with a beach view.

The festival offers a lineup that displays an array of genres, including rock, reggae, hip-hop, and more. The music schedule includes three performances from festival headliners and hosts, Slightly Stoopid. The occasion coincides with the band’s 30th anniversary, adding a flair of celebration to the event. Joining the 2026 lineup are Rebelution, G. Love, Rome, The Movement, The Elovaters, Little Stranger, HIRIE, DENM, and Z-Trip, in addition to a special ‘Traffic Jam” performance by Damian Jr. Gong & Stephen Marley, and an Old Soul Unplugged set by Stephen.

Closer to the Sun provides events like morning yoga, basketball, and workshops developed to foster a deeper relationship between the festival’s artists and their fans. And though events like excursions and cultural charity help, attendees can explore the beautiful Riviera Maya, an experience made to complement the festival’s live music component.

Since 2014, Closer to the Sun has given back to the Riviera Maya by investing in community and environmental efforts in the area. Since 2014, festival goers have helped to raise $400,000 to aid 46 local organizations. Attendees looking to donate to this cause can do so through the Positive Legacy Foundation, which provides emergency hunger relief, medical and school supplies, infrastructure improvement, and more.
