Simple Plan’s classic and recently viral track has been rewarded with a special milestone in the UK.
Simple Plan released ‘I’m Just A Kid’ back in 2002 and has since become one of their biggest tracks. An ode to how hard it is being young and trying to figure things out for yourself, it’s a song that has resonated with every generation that has heard it since.
And even recently, it had a viral moment on TikTok, becoming the soundtrack to people recreating their old photos.
And because of those factors, it has now been certified Silver in the UK according to BPI.
That’s the equivalent of 200,000 sales.
It appears on the band’s debut album ‘No Pads, No Helmets…Just Balls’ which is also certified Silver, the equivalent of 60,000 sales for albums.
And it is also the band’s second track to be certified in its own right, following on from ‘Summer Paradise’ featuring Sean Paul. It is also Silver.
‘I’m Just A Kid’ has been streamed 220 MILLION times on Spotify, and the classic video has been seen 52 million times.
