Shrek 5 is official!
DreamWorks Animation has confirmed that the next movie in the Shrek franchise is heading to theaters in the “not too far, far away” future.
There have been four movies already in the animated franchise, along with two Puss in Boots spin-off films. It’s been 14 years since the release of Shrek Forever After, so it’s about time we get the fifth movie in the series!
A release date has been announced along with a teaser poster.

Mike Myers, Eddie Murphy, and Cameron Diaz are reprising their roles as Shrek, Donkey, and Princess Fiona, respectively.
The six films in the franchise have grossed a collective $4 billion worldwide. The first movie won an Oscar for Best Animated Feature and was also nominated in the Best Adapted Screenplay category!
