Appearing on the “Between Us Moms” podcast on Wednesday, October 9, Burgess discussed keeping her children out of the public eye.

The dancer, who has a 2-year-old son, Zane, with Green, told hosts Katie Krause Mork and Hallie Stephens Drake that she is not interested in doing a reality show centered around her family.

Explaining her stance, Burgess said, “We’ve had people interested, and I get why,” referencing their blended family.

Green has three sons, Noah, 12, Bodhi, 10, and Journey, 8, with ex-wife Megan Fox and 21-year-old Kassius from a previous relationship.

She continued: “There’s so much that I’m sure people would love to know about what happens in our household and having such a busy chaotic life, and it’s fun but it’s also just not me.”

Burgess further opened up about the challenges of media scrutiny surrounding her parenting decisions.

She said, “We already get media articles like I’m forcing Zane to be a girl because I haven’t cut his hair yet or the ridiculous people saying that the kids are being forced to be girls.”

“I don’t understand it,” Burgess added, per People, revealing her frustration with the claims.

The “Dancing with the Stars” pro went on to explain why a reality show wouldn’t be a good fit for their family.

“So imagine us doing an actual reality show. The attention is just not healthy for our kids, and it’s certainly not Brian’s style either,” the dancer stated.

However, Burgess noted that there could be one exception: “Should they choose to be in this industry because they love an art form that has them in the public eye, then we address that.”

Burgess reflected on the positive environment her children experience despite having famous parents.

“Kids at school already know who their parents are, and luckily, we’re in a beautiful community, and everyone has known them for years, and they don’t get any negativity at school,” she explained.

However, she expressed concerns about going more public. “But if we opened that up to the whole world…” she trailed off.

Having worked in reality TV, Burgess feels she could manage the spotlight but emphasized, “I could probably handle it a little bit more, but I also really like my privacy when it comes to some things.”

She added: “I’m happy to share what I wanna share what I think is helpful — we do on the podcast — but my home is sacred and my family is sacred and I wanna protect that as much as possible.”

Last year, Burgess made a guest appearance on the “Not So Hollywood” podcast, where she discussed her co-parenting relationship with Green and his ex-wife Fox.

The dancer shared that they all get along well and that their dynamic is “great.”

According to Daily Mail, Burgess said, “The reason it’s great is because the focus is the kids. There’s nothing else that needs to be considered other than making this a beautiful, healthy, whole environment for them.”

She also acknowledged that divorce could be tough on kids, explaining, “People try to protect kids from divorce as much as they can so they’re not affected, but the truth is they’re going to be affected. So you can only choose that there’s a positive effect or a negative effect.”

During her chat on the “Between Us Moms” podcast, Burgess expressed disappointment with her “Dancing With the Stars” legacy, particularly after recent remarks about her Mirrorball Trophy win.

Responding to the show’s new co-host Julianne Hough’s comment that radio DJ Bobby Bones, Sharna’s season 27 partner, didn’t deserve the victory, the 39-year-old dancer said: “It also sucks that of all the incredible seasons I had, I’m remembered as the win that no one wanted.”

She added: “I think even Julianne was recently in an interview saying, ‘The win that should never have happened out of all 33 seasons was Bobby Bones.’ It just sucks. It does hurt a little bit because I wish I could have left a good legacy, like, a beautiful legacy on ‘Dancing With the Stars’ after my time. But it’s ok.”
