As fans of Severance are watching the Season 2 finale — which premiered on Friday, March 21st — the show has officially been renewed for a third season.
The news was confirmed by the minds behind the hit workspace thriller, including producers Ben Stiller, Adam Scott, and Dan Erickson, and Apple TV+ head of programming Matt Cherniss.
“Making Severance has been one of the most creatively exciting experiences I’ve ever been a part of,” Stiller said in a statement. “While I have no memory of this, I’m told making season three will be equally enjoyable, though any recollection of these future events will be forever and irrevocably wiped from my memory as well.”
Scott, who portrays protagonist Mark Scout, issued a similar statement, playing with the idea of the in-show universe. “I couldn’t be more excited to get back to work with Ben, Dan, the incredible cast & crew, Apple and the whole Severance team,” he said, adding, “Oh hey also — not a huge deal — but if you see my innie, please don’t mention any of this to him. Thanks.”
Cherniss also issued a statement, commending the show for its “undeniable” magic. “We’re so proud to be the home for this brilliant series and look forward to audiences experiencing what’s in store for season three,” he said.
Severance first premiered in February 2022, and has since become the most-watched series on Apple TV+ (though cast member Christopher Walken was admittedly not among those watching). The second season began airing earlier this year, and was named by Consequence as one of the most anticipated TV shows of 2025.
