Disney has revealed the full scope of its D23 fan event for 2024, and it is truly massive.
The company announced at CES this year that it would break new ground this year with its biennial fan convention, streaming portions of it on Disney+ for the first time and expanding to international markets, but the just-revealed schedule gives the first substantial overview of exactly how big the August 9-11 confab will be. The list of events that dropped today is easily twice as larger as it has been in recent years.

Among the highlights at the Anaheim Convention Center are interactive floor experiences including a new Avatar pavilion, a Marvel TVA walkthrough experience, a Parks Imagineering pavilion, a Disney+ pavilion, talent photo ops with casts of such shows as Percy Jackson and Wizards Beyond Waverly Place, a demonstration of Lucasfilm’s ILM Stagecraftä technology, and more.
The Honda Center is a new addition this year and Disney says it “will be home to three nights of marquee showcases—Disney Entertainment, Disney Experiences, and Disney Legends—allowing us to bring bigger shows with more magic to the biggest audience of Disney fans in the world.”
Honda Center highlights:
On Friday, August 9 at 7 p.m. the Disney Entertainment Showcase will offer “a star-studded… exclusive look at the movies, series, and shows fans love, and a glimpse into what to look forward to from Disney’s film studios, television and streaming services, live stage shows on Broadway, and beyond.” The company promises “surprise announcements and special guests, musical performances, and exclusive new content coming to the big screen, to smaller screens, and to the stage.” In the past, the event has included revelations from Marvel, the Star Wars universe and James Cameron’s Avatar movies.
On Saturday at 7 p.m., Disney Experiences takes the center stage for Disney Experiences Chairman Josh D’Amaro’s presentation featuring the latest on projects in development around the world for Disney Parks and experiences,” including special announcements, surprises and performances.
Finally, on Sunday at 5 p.m., Ryan Seacrest will host the induction of the 2024 class of Disney Legends. They include Colleen Atwood, Angela Bassett, Martha Blanding, James L. Brooks, James Cameron, Jamie Lee Curtis, Miley Cyrus, Steve Ditko, Harrison Ford, Mark Henn, Frank Oz, Kelly Ripa, Joe Rodhe, and John Williams.
This year’s event will feature Disney+ integration with some presentations streamed live, musical performances with world-class artists, special content presentations, a new interactive app, and one-of-a-kind shopping experiences.”
Among the highlights from the Premiere Stage:
- What’s coming next to Disney+ from Marvel Animation, with special guests and first looks at hotly anticipated series including Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man, Eyes of Wakanda, future seasons of What If…?, X-Men ’97 and more.
- Disney Princess: Creating Tiana’s World will feature Anika Noni Rose (voice of Tiana), Tiana series director Joyce Sherrí, and creative executive Carmen Smith in conversation.
Among the highlights from the Walt Disney Archives Stage:
- Pete Docter, chief creative officer of Pixar, and author Don Peri discuss Docter’s new book, Directing at Disney: The Original Directors of Walt’s Animated Films, accompanied by never-before-seen images offering a look back in time.
Among the highlights from the Backlot Stage:
- The Grey’s Anatomy 20th anniversary celebration examines the longest-running primetime medical drama in TV history. The staff of Grey Sloan will reflect on 20 seasons of storytelling.
- Abbott Elementary: Class Is in Session! explores the award-winning sitcom. The cast will break down their portrayals of the relatable struggles faced by educators and dissect what makes Abbott standout TV.
Among the highlights from the Pixar & Walt Disney Animation Studios Stage:
- A Conversation with Moana 2 Filmmakers where the talents behind Walt Disney Animation Studios’ Moana 2 sit for a panel discussion and Q&A.
- A Conversation with Zootopia 2 Filmmakers in which director/writer Jared Bush and producer Yvett Merino engage in a panel discussion and Q&A.

The ticket tiers present a dizzying array of price points and options, starting at $79 for a single-day entry and running to $2,599 for the 3-Day Ultimate Preferred Pass with premium seating. The event typically sells out and you must be a D23 member to purchase tickets. See the options on those below.
And if that is not enough Disney fandom for you, there are additional opportunities to gather with fellow D23 members in the week leading up the to the big event.
They include the first ever D23 Day at Angel Stadium on Sunday, August 4, with attendees getting a Mickey Mouse bobblehead.
On Tuesday, there is D23 Night at the Anaheim Packing District.
On Wednesday, Disney will present an outdoor screening of The Incredibles to celebrate the film’s 30th anniversary. The event will take place at Pearson Park Amphitheater in Downtown Anaheim and feature food trucks.
On Thursday, both Disneyland and California Adventure will welcome ticketed D23 fans from rope drop to late night. The day will include “unique offerings for fans, including a custom cavalcade, an energetic dance party, special photo opportunities, and more.”
