In the background a Pilates teacher says to her, “two more.” How does the rapper maintain her fit physique? Celebwell has all the details on her diet and fitness habits.
In the video, Saweetie does a Pilates workout on a reformer. Why is pilates a good workout? According to the Mayo Clinic there are lots of benefits to the workout, as it “strengthens the body’s inner core while increasing its flexibility resulting in improved overall health. It can also promote longer, leaner muscles, injury prevention, relief from stress and back pain, enhanced athletic performance, and heightened mind-body awareness.
Saweetie is all about lower body workouts. “Well, I love legs and I was an athlete since I can ever remember. I come from an athletic family. My grandfather played for the San Francisco 49ers and my uncles played football as well. My aunties ran track. We’re all really athletic. So when it comes to fitness, I love working on my legs,” she told Women Fitness. “I think if you have good legs, you look good overall. So, I would say squats and leg presses.”
“I try to cook for myself. I feel like if I’m not going to go on a strict diet, I can do my due diligence by cooking as much as possible and controlling my portions by measuring ingredients so my meal is healthy,” Sawettie told Women Fitness. She also has a few go-to cheat foods, including McDonalds. “And my any time favorite food would definitely be crawfish with a yummy cajun sauce, extra spicy, and a side of rice,” she told Women’s Fitness.
“I take ginger shots every morning and I take vitamins,” Saweetie told Page Six. “I just feel like a certain type of cleanliness. People don’t talk about it — but let’s talk about it — healthy bowel movements are really important. You got to get that thing flowing.”
Saweetie like “mixing in some dance moves like squatting and dancing,” into her workouts. “I’ve been trying to practice it more and more, It’s a really good exercise!” Dancing is a great workout for many reasons. Not only does it build strength and promote flexibility, but helps you lose weight and even promotes cardiovascular function. A 2016 study published in the American Journal of Preventive Medicine determined that people who engaged in moderate-intensity dancing were 46 percent less likely to develop heart disease or die from it than non-dancers. In comparison, moderate-intensity walkers were just 25 percent less likely to suffer heart health issues.
