Sabrina Carpenter has announced a brand new album called Man’s Best Friend. It’s set for release on August 29th via Island Records.
“Manchild,” which Carpenter released last week, serves as the album’s lead single. The new album follows her 2024 breakout LP, Short n’ Sweet, which spawned the hit singles “Espresso,” “Please Please Please,” and “Taste.” Short n’ Sweet’s success helped boost Carpenter to headliner status, closing out festivals like Outside Lands and last weekend’s Primavera Sound; she also released a deluxe version of the album in February, and released a rework of “Please Please Please” with Dolly Parton.

Now, almost exactly a year after that Short n’ Sweet’s August 23rd release, Carpenter will unveil her seventh studio album. She announced the news with by revealing the album’s artwork, as well as a photo of a dog wearing a collar that reads “Man’s Best Friend.” Pre-orders for Man’s Best Friend are ongoing. Last week, we named “Manchild” our Song of the Week, praising the song’s clever tone, its chaotic music video, Carpenter’s vocals, and the core songwriting trio of Carpenter, Amy Allen, and Jack Antonoff.

Beginning in August, she’ll embark on the next leg of her “Short n’ Sweet” tour, with dates in in Pittsburgh, New York, Nashville, Toronto, and Los Angeles. Fans can get tickets here.
