YouTube star Ryan Trahan has raised over $5,000,000 for St Jude’s Children’s Hospital just over a month into his 50 States in 50 days challenge.
Back on June 10, YouTuber Ryan Trahan announced that he would be going on one of YouTube’s trickiest challenges to date – trying to travel to all 50 States in 50 days.
Alongside his wife, Haley, Ryan has been aiming to raise money for St Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital. However, their task isn’t as simple as crossing the border of each state. From the outset, the YouTuber announced that they’d be staying in some crazy Airbnb setups and spending a night in each state.
He had, initially, aimed to raise $1 million for St Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital over the 50 days. However, just 35 days into it, he has raised over $5.5 million.
Ryan Trahan 50 States in 50 Days challenge
Trahan, who most recently uploaded a video of him and his wife in Indiana, has ticked off 36 states. He is embarking on the Midwest stretch of things, and still has the Pacific Northwest to finish too.
The couple have stayed in some pretty spectacular Airbnb locations too, including a replica of a nut, a nuclear missile bunker, a lighthouse, and a castle.
His fundraising goal has increased to $6 million, but he is surely going to smash through that before long as well.
Like with most fundraisers, there are donation goals and punishments for the YouTuber. If there is $50,000 donation, he and his wife have to spin the ‘Wheel of Doom’ for punishments while in a new state.
A few brands and content creators have helped him along the way, with the likes of MrBeast, Mark Rober, and Doctor Mike all activating the Wheel of Doom at some point.
As noted, there are no signs of the fundraising slowing down as he enters the final two weeks.
