Podcaster Joe Rogan has weighed in on the ongoing lawsuit between Hollywood power couple Ryan Reynolds and Blake Lively and It Ends with Us star and director Justin Baldoni. Rogan, perhaps unsurprisingly, firmly put himself in Baldoni’s corner.
Late last year, Blake Lively filed a lawsuit against Justin Baldoni — the pair starred in Sony Picture’s It Ends with Us together, which Baldoni also produced and directed — alleging inappropriate on-set behavior, harassment, and an ongoing smear campaign against her.
In response, Baldoni filed a $400 million countersuit against Lively, her husband Ryan Reynolds, and Lively’s PR representative Leslie Sloane, alleging extortion, defamation, breach of contract, and more. Baldoni also filed a $250 million libel lawsuit against The New York Times.
According to Joe Rogan, Lively and Reynolds have “ruined their reputation” by going after Baldoni and believes that Reynolds is trying to “get out of it” — last week, Reynolds filed a motion to dismiss Baldoni’s defamation suit against him.defamation, extortion, false light invasion of privacy, promissory fraud and other claims.
“They f—– up. Ryan’s trying to get out of it now. He’s trying to get out of the lawsuit, and they’re like, ‘you are a key part of this. The whole thing’s crazy… Baldoni’s suing the New York Times, and he’s got a great case there, too. Especially, a guy like that who’s, like, known for being a really sweet, nice guy, and then he’s, like, ‘Alright, enough.’”
“You literally have a text exchange back and forth,” Rogan continued. “They just never thought that anybody was going to come out with the receipts.”
Since the lawsuits have been filed and pre-trial hearings began, reports have indicated that the case is expected to go to trial in March 2026. During a recent public appearance at the Saturday Night Live 50th Anniversary Special, Reynolds made light of the situation, cracking a joke about it during an audience Q&A bit.
