RUPAUL’S Drag Race star Lexi Love tearfully revealed that she was once a human trafficking victim and a ‘homeless drug addict’.

The long-running MTV competition is known for its hard-hitting stories from passionate contestants.

As another season of the search for the next drag superstar returned to TV, one passionate star opened on their life.

Semi-finalist Lexi Love, 34, was being interviewed on the runway by legendary contestant Latrice Royale.

Latrice was known for her previous appearances on the fourth season of RuPaul’s Drag Race.

The contestant later returned to the competition for two All-Stars editions of the competition.

The latest episode saw the queens audition for a role in the Las Vegas residency show, RuPaul’s Drag Race Live!.

Latrice was in charge of getting candid chats from the contestants, when Lexi made the surprising confession.

She told the star: “I was a homeless drug addict. So I am, like RuPaul said, a survivor.”

“I’ve survived through a human trafficking incident.”

The camera cut to the confessional, where Lexi – whose real name is Lexi Barnes – opened up more on her harrowing experience.

She broke down in tears as she told the viewers her backstory where she found herself “handcuffed to a bed” for 48 hours.

Lexi explained: “I was at a hotel party with friends. We were all under the influence of a lot of substances.

“They asked me if I wanted to take my friends home and come back alone, and young and dumb me, I did, and I came back.

“They gave me some stuff, I woke up handcuffed to a bed and stayed there for 48 hours.”

Back on the runway, she started to cry in front of Latrice as she apologized: “I’m sorry, those moments make me feel like, I just want this to be a long term journey, Honey.

“I’ve survived through so many f***** up things in life, that I’m prepared for anything you throw at me.

“Now I might cry, but I am prepared to handle anything.”

Latrice seemed to be completely invested in her story as she replied: “Life experience is the best teacher in the world.

“Sometimes what we go through and experience in life while we’re in it, we’re not feeling like it’s doing this service.”

She added: “But look at you, the strength, the perseverance, what happens when you put pressure [on yourself!].”
