During an appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live! to discuss his new country album, Look Up, Ringo Starr shared the shocking news that he’s never indulged in the simple joy of eating a pizza.
Much to the shock of the studio audience, The Beatles member explained that he has avoided several foods throughout his life, pizza included, due to a number of allergies. Watch the clip below.
After discussing the artist’s country pivot, Jimmy Kimmel prompted Starr to confirm or deny some rumors that have swirled around the drummer throughout his life. In addition to pizza, Ringo has never been able to freely enjoy a curry, either.
“I’m allergic to several items,” he emphasized. “With pizza, you don’t know what you’re putting in it half the time. And curry! I’m strict with myself since it makes me ill immediately.”
“I used to think you had the greatest life, and now I realize mine is better,” Kimmel quipped.
“Yours is better because you’ve had a pizza,” Ringo agreed.
Elsewhere in the segment, Starr reflected on his December reunion with Paul McCartney, during which the two performed a pair of songs together in London.
