Rihanna’s upcoming single for Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, titled ‘Lift Me Up’, is set to release on Friday, October 28 — two weeks prior to the debut of the film on Friday, November 11.
Rihanna’s Black Panther single is titled ‘Lift Me Up’ and was written as “a tribute to the extraordinary life and legacy of Chadwick Boseman”
In addition to Rihanna, “Lift Me Up” was also penned by Tems, Oscar-winning composer Ludwig Göransson, and Wakanda Forever director Ryan Coogler.
“After speaking with Ryan and hearing his direction for the film and the song, I wanted to write something that portrays a warm embrace from all the people that I’ve lost in my life. I tried to imagine what it would feel like if I could sing to them now and express how much I miss them,” said Tems in an official statement. “Rihanna has been an inspiration to me so hearing her convey this song is a great honor.”
Needless to say, after learning that Rihanna is involved with a song that’s a direct tribute to the life and legacy of the late Chadwick Boseman, fans of both the singer and the actor began to prepare themselves for all the feels:
