Rick Ross made it clear he was on Kendrick Lamar’s side when the latter found himself engaged in a heated beef with Drake, but the Miami emcee saw his allegiance come back to bite him thanks to the melee that unfolded when he decided to play “Not Like Us” at a show in Canada over the weekend.
Kendrick Lamar decidedly walked away with the W in his battle with Drake thanks in no small part to “Not Like Us,” the wildly catchy diss track that essentially served as the nail in the coffin when the Compton native went back-to-back after dropping “Meet the Grahams.”
Rick Ross also found himself trading some shots with Drake as that feud was unfolding, and he apparently couldn’t resist the urge to do some trolling on his foe’s home turf after heading up to Canada to perform at the Ignite Music Festival in Vancouver on Sunday.
Ricky Rozay reportedly decided to cap off his set by having his DJ throw on “Not Like Us,” a move that apparently didn’t sit well with a number of people who made their way to the stage to confront him and his crew.
The altercation was initially a verbal one until someone threw a drink, which led to things escalating very quickly as a massive brawl broke out.
I guess Canada not having any trolling wit no mans playing “Not Like Us” in their country. Pray for peace y’all. Ross and Drake use to make slaps. Sad it got to this part . pic.twitter.com/aBxpDCa2KX

At this point, it’s unclear if the people who stepped to Ross and his entourage were affiliated with Drake in any way or if they were simply defending his honor in the name of Canada.
With that said, the man who goes as “ChampagnePapi” on Instagram seemed to give the attack his seal of approval by liking a video that was posted on the platform.
According to TMZ, Ross didn’t seem particularly shaken up by an incident he says didn’t lead to any serious injuries, although you have to wonder if other rappers will think twice about playing “Not Like Us” during a visit to the Great White North moving forward.
