Rick Cosnett of “The Vampire Diaries” chatted about starring in the new rom-com “The Holiday Exchange.”
The synopsis is: Wilde Williams (Taylor Frey) must cope with vacationing as a bachelor, so he decides to swap houses on an LGBTQ app with Oliver (Rick Cosnett). Jake Helgren directed from a script by Taylor Frey.
Working with Taylor Frey in ‘The Holiday Exchange’
“This movie was honestly incredible,” Cosnett exclaimed. “I had the best artistic experience, I really did. To really carry the film with Taylor Frey was great. He is a really good actor, and I love him so much. It was really a joy. To have a British accent on screen for the first time for me was quite a challenge.”.
“It turned out to be such a beautiful film. Everybody did a wonderful job. I was elated when I saw it at the premiere,” Cosnett added.
Working with Jake Helgren as director
“My character in ‘The Holiday Exchange’ was very nerdy, and I was very pleased with how it turned out,” he admitted. “Jake Helgren’s direction to me was so incredibly specific. We were both on the same page.”
Working with Kyle Richards
On working with Kyle Richards, he said, “Kyle was amazing. I absolutely love ‘The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills.’ It was great; she let me a little fanboy on set, and she was very gracious to me. She is so good and funny in the film. I absolutely adore her. She was phenomenal.”
‘Shoulder Dance’ film, working with Jay Arnold
On starring in the film “Shoulder Dance,” Cosnett said, “It was a milestone experience for me. Jay Arnold was incredible all around, he really was. Jay created such a great atmosphere for all of us, which was very creative. Matt Dallas was awesome too!”
Cosnett on working with Blake Cooper Griffin
Cosnett had great words about actor Blake Cooper Griffin. “Blake is so, so good. I just loved working with him. Blake is such a good actor; he is capable of everything and then some.”
‘Palm Royale’ Season 2
He revealed that he is looking forward to start filming Season 2 of “Palm Royale” on Monday. “It is very cool. I can’t believe we get to do it all over again,” he admitted.
Working with Carol Burnett
On working with Carol Burnett, Cosnett said, “It was absolutely amazing. She was the nicest, calmest and just fascinating. You could hear a pin drop every time she was doing a scene. We were all completely mesmerized. All of those moments were so special; everyone was cherishing them to the ninth degree.
“Carol Burnett is a queen,” he exclaimed. “She is just so funny. Everything she does is hilarious, even her being in a coma in the series.”
Working with Ricky Martin
“Also, Ricky Martin is the nicest human being to walk the earth,” he said with a sweet laugh. “Every single person in the cast and crew loves him. Ricky is a true professional.”
Closing thoughts on ‘The Holiday Exchange’
For his fans, he remarked about “The Holiday Exchange,” “It’s a really cool, feel-good movie. It is very hopeful, and if you are able and willing to be vulnerable enough, you can really win at love. Taylor does such a good job at that in his own way, and that’s the opposite of my character.”
