Singer-songwriter and pianist Izze Stein performed at Joanne Trattoria in New York City, as part of an “Emerging Artist Showcase” a few weeks ago.

Joanne Trattoria is an Italian-American restaurant owned by Joe Germanotta, Lady Gaga’s father, and it has become a live music and entertainment hub in the Upper West Side of New York.

Izze Stein performed alongside such artists as Parker Phillips and Katerina Athena.

She kicked off her set with the Amy Winehouse classic “Valerie,“ which she made her own, and she immediately broke into Alicia Key’s “If I Ain’t Got You,” in an expressive and resonant rendition, as she accompanied herself on the keyboard.

The inclusion of her own original song “Back To My Life” was sheer bliss, and it showcased her uniqueness as a contemporary jazz recording artist and raw, natural talent.

For her encore, Stein returned to the Joanna Trattoria stage to perform John Legend’s “Ordinary People” as a duet with the equally gifted Parker Phillips, and it was enthralling. They did John Legend proud.

In many ways, Stein is reminiscent of a young Ella Fitzgerald meets Sara Bareilles meets Bebe Neuwirth, and that ought to be taken as a compliment. The control that Stein maintains over her voice, and her vocal range and abilities are impeccable. It is only a matter of time before she starts headlining the Birdland Jazz Club.

Stein was utterly fantastic, and she inspired her listeners to go and check out her latest studio offering “QUESTIONS.”

Speaking about her new music, her debut original album “QUESTIONS” is available on digital service providers by clicking here.
