Social media users can hardly handle the emotional overload of one man’s generous gift to hundreds of dogs.
In a TikTok video posted by Caitlin Mcgowan, a man who appeared to viewers as “retired,” sat on a bench in Oceanside, California.
As he waited alone, the gentlemen held a bag of pepperoni Pup-Peroni treats. With every dog that passed him by, he handed them a treat.
A mighty dachshund was the first to approach the man with its interest in a meat stick. After, he stood up from his stoop and gave a husky inside a parked car a generous nibble.
When a group of several pups walked up to him, the man was overjoyed and extended both treats and pets to the group of dogs.
The TikTok video amassed over 21M views and 4.4M likes. It also prompted many comments from viewers who couldn’t hold back their tears.
Pup-Peroni responds to viral dog video
“Is anyone else hysterically crying? Or just my extreme empath self,” wrote one.
“Not me sobbing over another complete stranger,” said another.
The Pup-Peroni brand also commented, sarcastically assuring, “We’re not crying.” TikTok and fitness influencer Joey Swoll chimed in as well, saying, “The videos TikTok was made for.”
Other viewers who frequently visit Oceanside claimed they’ve seen the man handing out dog treats on several occasions. After they shared their stories in the comments, the original poster said she plans to show the gentleman the video she created so he knows how many people know and appreciate him.
Another viral story that left viewers in tears, is the viral death of the anglerfish who swam from the depths of the ocean to the surface.
As she made her ascent, the anglerfish faced the light for the first time in her entire life, only to die from suspected underlying causes. Despite the emotion of her story, viewers were drawn to the lore of her journey and the perseverance she displayed.
